Credit Unions in Ireland are being placed under special lending restrictions to limit loans to individuals and companies.
Credit Unions are very popular in Ireland. In the UK, Association of British Credit Unions lists 375 members, whereas in Ireland, the Irish League of Credit Unions lists itself as the governing body for 508 unions.
