Whether you are fully employed or looking, it is always smart to save money where you can.
It’s unfortunate how many people live their day to day lives with only the money in their pocket. Many out there barely make rent, let alone save any extra for luxuries.
Regardless of your financial situation, here are some tips we have put together to help you cut costs on the essentials and hopefully starting putting some money away to do the things you really love and enjoy!
Use Coupons
It sounds like something grandmas and grandpas do on their weekends to add a little fun in their lives, but in reality coupons are great.
Be a regular checker of your local shops print deals and make food menus based on what deals and bargains are currently running.
You can go beyond print coupons and see what codes you can find online. Whether you are trying to save money on groceries, clothing, or home improvement projects, check out Groupon Coupons for discounted deals at stores you already shop at.
For example there are great deals right now for B&Q if you are looking to make home improvements. Groupon runs deals daily from the biggest brands so we assume you’ll find something of use!
Buy Bulk
This is incredibly important when you have multiple people under one roof, such as families or housemates. If you are a family, it is easier because there aren’t as many residents trying to make decisions.
If you share with house or flatmates, try to organize roommate meetings occasionally and shop together. You would be amazed how much money each month you can save by shopping together.
For example, instead of four people each buying a small package of toilet roll, four people can chip in together on an economy size and save almost 50%… toilet roll never goes off, so there’s no harm having extra on hand at all times.
Cut Back
Somethings you may have lived with for so long, that they are beginning to feel like essentials. While gas, electricity, utilities in general, etc. are essential to life, you can probably cut back your consumption or cost.
Be mindful of how much you are using of each utility in order to know where you are wasting money. Depending on your circumstances, consider getting rid of your cable television. Not having a TV seems strange for a while, but trust me, you will get used to it.
