Viola Black: App-Based Alternative Banking Service Launched

New Welsh app-based alternative banking service Viola Black launched at the start of this year.

Customers get access to a pre-paid Mastercard, a UK sort-code / account number, and an app with money management features.

In the app users can see payments in real-time, view and categorise transactions, and add receipts.

You can also use the app to send money to friends and family, with an upcoming feature called TripleClik that allows you to send payments with just three clicks.

Lost or stolen cards can be instantly locked via the app.

The account has a small monthly fee of £4, which Viola say will be invested back into new features and allow the service to make a profit.

Your first physical card is free. Replacement cards cost £2.

You can download Viola Black on iOS or Android.
